Figma to production build

A design file turned into a production platform

The visual direction came from the client's design agency. Norvaris built it: custom WordPress, responsive behaviour resolved at every width, and performance engineered in rather than added afterwards.

What the work covered

Custom WordPress Figma to code Responsive UX Performance Technical SEO GA4 CMS Infrastructure

The challenge

A polished design file is not yet a production website

HyProMag USA already had a strong visual direction created in Figma by another agency.

Norvaris’ role was to take that design and solve everything required to make it work as a real website:

  • translate the visual system into clean, responsive code
  • adapt desktop-heavy layouts for mobile and tablet
  • resolve interactions and animations not fully defined in the design
  • restructure elements that did not translate cleanly from Figma to the browser
  • build a content management system the client could actually use
  • preserve the visual quality without sacrificing speed
  • replace the existing HyProMag USA website
  • configure SEO, analytics, forms and production infrastructure
  • deliver the final site within a compressed launch window

The challenge was not simply visual fidelity. It was turning a complex design into a maintainable, responsive and fast corporate platform.

The starting point

The decisions a static file does not answer

The supplied Figma covered most of the visual direction on desktop, with some mobile states provided.

Production implementation exposed decisions that static design files do not always answer:

  • how complex sections should reflow at intermediate breakpoints
  • how large visual compositions should behave on small screens
  • how layered imagery should be sliced and loaded efficiently
  • how animations should behave without hurting usability or performance
  • how news, team members and corporate documents should be managed after launch
  • how the design should respond when real content changes

Rather than reproduce every frame literally, Norvaris treated the Figma as the design system and then made implementation decisions where needed.

01 — Figma to custom WordPress

Built from scratch rather than assembled from a page builder

The site was developed as a fully custom WordPress implementation.

The goal was to retain the visual character of the supplied design while avoiding the excess markup, rigid layouts and unnecessary dependencies that often come with generic page-builder implementations.

The custom approach gave greater control over responsive behaviour, animation timing, component structure, image handling, loading strategy, SEO output, maintainability and performance.

This also made it possible to adjust individual sections where the original static design would not have translated well to the browser. This is the same approach we use for custom website development: the visual system, responsive behaviour, content management and technical foundation are engineered as one production system rather than assembled from generic templates.

02 — Design adaptation and responsive implementation

Fidelity where it mattered. Changes where the browser demanded them.

A Figma file shows how a layout should look at selected viewport sizes. A production website has to work at every width in between.

Several sections therefore required design decisions during development. Norvaris refined selected page layouts, mobile behaviour, news presentation, responsive spacing and composition, interaction patterns, animation behaviour, video playback presentation, and image treatment and slicing.

These changes were not made to redesign the project for the sake of it. They were introduced where a direct translation of the static design would have produced weaker usability, awkward responsive behaviour or unnecessary technical overhead.

03 — Complex visual implementation

Turning layered compositions into efficient web components

One of the most demanding parts of the project was the number of visual elements and interactions across the site.

Some compositions had to be broken into separate image assets and interface layers rather than exported as single large screenshots.

That required balancing three priorities:

Visual fidelity

The production site still needed to feel like the approved design.

Responsive behaviour

Layered content had to remain usable across desktop, tablet and mobile.

Performance

Large visuals and interactions could not be allowed to turn into excessive page weight or blocking JavaScript.

The result is a visually rich site that remains technically lightweight.

04 — A CMS built for ongoing corporate communication

The client can update key content without touching code

The website was not built as a static one-off launch.

Editable WordPress content was created for areas the HyProMag USA team is likely to update as the company develops. This includes the ability to add and edit news, manage team members, upload and replace corporate presentations, manage PDFs and downloadable documents, and update key site content without developer intervention.

That is particularly important for a corporate website where leadership, project milestones, news and investor-facing materials can change regularly.

05 — Performance engineering

Visual complexity without a slow website

Performance was treated as part of the build rather than as a cleanup task after launch.

The implementation included CDN delivery, local font hosting, resource preloading, WebP image optimisation, image sizing and compression, caching, optimised asset loading, and careful handling of larger visual elements and interactions.  Technical SEO is built into our website development process from the start, rather than treated as a separate optimisation step after launch.

Desktop Lighthouse results

Two PageSpeed Insights desktop tests on the live production site returned:

MetricTest 1Test 2
Performance9996
Best Practices100100
SEO100100
First Contentful Paint0.7 s0.8 s
Largest Contentful Paint0.9 s0.8 s
Total Blocking Time40 ms140 ms
Cumulative Layout Shift0.0020.028

These are Lighthouse laboratory measurements and can vary between individual runs, which is why the case study presents the range rather than treating a single score as permanent.

The key result is consistency: even with a visually rich interface, the production site remained extremely fast in desktop testing.

06 — Technical SEO

Search foundations built into the implementation

The production build included the on-page and technical SEO foundation needed for the new site to launch cleanly.

Work included page titles and meta descriptions, heading hierarchy, canonical URLs, XML sitemap configuration, robots directives, Open Graph metadata, structured data, image alt text, internal linking, redirect handling, indexing configuration, and Google Search Console setup and sitemap submission.

Rather than treating SEO as a plugin installed at the end of the project, the technical structure was considered during development. The live site achieved a 100 Lighthouse SEO score in both supplied desktop tests.

07 — Analytics and measurement

The new site launched ready to generate useful data

Google Analytics 4 was connected as part of the production setup.

This gave HyProMag USA a clean analytics foundation from launch and removed the need to retrofit basic measurement after the website was already live.

The site can now support ongoing analysis of traffic, user acquisition, page engagement, content performance, contact activity and future campaign performance.

08 — Forms and reliable email delivery

Contact functionality that works beyond the frontend

The contact experience was implemented as part of the complete production system rather than as an isolated visual form.

The setup included production-ready forms, validation, spam protection, notification handling, SMTP email delivery and reliable routing of form submissions.

This reduces dependence on default WordPress mail delivery and provides a more dependable path between a website enquiry and the HyProMag USA team.

09 — Security, backups and production infrastructure

The parts of the website visitors do not see

A production corporate website also needs infrastructure behind the interface.

Norvaris configured the supporting technical layer, including SMTP, scheduled backups, security tooling, firewall protection, caching and optimised production delivery.

The objective was to hand over a site that was ready for day-to-day use, not simply a set of completed frontend templates.

10 — Replacing the existing website

A controlled move from the old site to the new platform

The project replaced HyProMag USA’s existing website. That meant the work had to include more than development in isolation.

The new build had to be prepared for production, existing URLs and SEO considerations reviewed, forms and analytics checked, infrastructure configured and the new platform launched without leaving the client with an unfinished technical handoff.

The final stage of the project also moved into a tighter launch window, requiring implementation, QA and deployment work to be completed efficiently without stripping back the core build.

The result

A corporate website designed in Figma — engineered for the real world

HyProMag USA now has a custom corporate platform capable of communicating a technically complex business through a clear, modern digital experience.
